The Trump Investment Accelerator — established by Executive Order 14255 — opened a window that has never existed before and will not exist after January 20, 2029.
It compresses a decade of interagency permitting and a decade of R&D into a single administration: FAA, DOT, DOD, EPA, and FCC coordinating in parallel, not sequence, under Commerce's authority to eliminate regulatory friction for any investment above $1 billion. The flying car has been two decades away for the last half-century. Every year the regulatory machinery runs in sequence instead of parallel is a year the flying car stays in the concept deck.
Project Maximum Boost is the only program on the table that closes the gap before the window closes.

No new statute required. Three existing federal mechanisms form a complete on-ramp.

The FAA's barrier to AI co-piloted eVTOL is not doctrinal — MOSAIC is performance-based by design. The barrier is evidentiary. Regulators need a failure-mode corpus dense enough, public enough, and independently verifiable enough to certify an AI co-pilot's authority envelope.
That corpus does not exist. Every existing eVTOL developer flies in restricted airspace. The data stays locked in corporate rooms.

Not 1,500 hours. Not a Part 135 operator. The same threshold that lets a 16-year-old drive a car should let an adult fly when the vehicle itself is certified safe.
MOSAIC already established the driver's-license-as-medical standard for sport pilots. Extending its performance-based framework to AI-co-piloted eVTOL is an evidence problem, not a doctrinal one. Project Maximum Boost solves it at racing speed, in public, while the Accelerator compresses the permitting that would otherwise take fifty years.
Long-term: any AI-assessed surface meeting published vertiport safety criteria operates as a vertiport by default — on the same logic that any lawfully available parking space operates as a parking space today. A racing-derived eVTOL enters DoW acquisition under the Warfighting Acquisition System's commercial-solutions pathway on day one. Contested-edge ISR, small-unit resupply, medical evacuation. At the DoD's fully-loaded cost of $400/gallon delivered to forward operating bases, a 40–50% fuel reduction is a national security asset — funded through the entertainment economy, not a bespoke defense procurement.
The race data doesn't stay on the course. Every season of competition produces a real-world training corpus for autonomous systems — edge cases, failure modes, and recovery behaviors generated under adversarial pressure that no simulation program has ever been allowed to replicate. The X1 Racing Game serves as a live digital twin: operators train on it, AI systems learn from it, and defense applications inherit the results. Autonomous driving, autonomous flight, and autonomous logistics all draw from the same data pipeline that the racing series generates for free.
